LOWELL (KFSM) - A man was injured after crashing a pickup truck into a Lowell house on Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 11), according to the Springdale Police Department.

The homeowner, Linda Luper, who has lived at 3710 E. Hwy 264 for 35 years, was not home at the time of the accident, which happened around 4:30 p.m.

"At that time I'm home cooking every day," Luper said.

She said she stepped out of the house to pickup a prescription before the cold weather set in and came back to a red pickup truck sticking out of her kitchen.

"All my cabinets were turned over," she said. "My new dishwasher, my table is gone. All the glass is broken out. My cabinets are on the other side of the kitchen."

The pickup also broke water pipes as it crashed through the kitchen wall. Luper said there was water everywhere.

According to the Springdale Police Department, the driver of the pickup truck fell asleep while making a turn and crashed into Luper's home. He was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Luper said she is not concerned about the damage to her house because her kitchen can be replaced, but a life cannot.

The Springdale Police Department is investigating the accident and has not issued any citations as of Tuesday night.
