BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — Crews will be installing a new power line in Springdale on Sunday (Oct. 25), which will shut down Interstate-49 for about 15 minutes.
Both lanes of I-49 will be closed from 7-7:15 a.m., according to a press release from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
Whether permitting, the road will be closed from Exit 76 (Wagon Wheel Road) to Exit 78 (State Highway 264), the release states.

After the lanes reopen, construction will continue throughout the day. Drivers are urged to be cautious while driving through the construction zone.
The addition of this new power line is coming as part of the Connecting Arkansas Program that is constructing four miles of a new four-lane U.S. Highway 412 Northern Bypass, which is providing an east-west route north of the Springdale Metropolitan Area.
