BENTONVILLE (KFSM) -- A labor of love is finally complete in Bentonville and it will soon be open to the public.

Crews at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art disassembled one of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes in April 2014 and moved it from New Jersey to Bentonville where it was reassembled on museum grounds.

On Thursday (Oct. 8), 5NEWS got a preview tour of the reassembled home.

The home was designed more than 60 years ago and is an example of Usonian Architecture. Wright used the term to describe a distinctly American style of residential architecture he developed during the Great Depression. These homes were meant to be simple and low-cost to be within a price range accessible to the average middle-class American family. About 120 Usonian homes were built.

"He wanted the prairie-style architecture," Chief Engagement Officer Niki Stewart said. "When you sit in the home and look out the windows you are part of the natural world."

While the exhibit is free, visitors need to book tickets in advance through the Crystal Bridges website. Crystal Bridges members can view the house from Oct. 10 to Nov. 9 and it opens to the general public Nov. 11.
