FORT SMITH (KFSM) — It’s a muddy Tuesday (Nov. 17) for one Fort Smith Public School. Sections of Ramsey Junior High have some water damage after a flash flood tore through the area.
Officials with the school district tell us that the north end of the building was damaged. This includes the choir room, some science classrooms, the hallway to the band room and possibly the auditorium.
Zena Featherston Marshall with Fort Smith Public Schools says the outer courtyard near this part of the school usually floods when there is a heavy rain, so it is not surprising that the area flooded this time.
Crews are working to clean this part of the school up.
