ROGERS (KFSM) -- Bekaert announced on Wednesday (March 23) that their manufacturing plant in Rogers will undergo a major expansion, bringing an additional 100 jobs.
The manufacturing company, which produces steel cord for the tire industry, will be expanding their production capacity by 50 percent to match growing product demand, according to a company press release.
The Rogers facility will complete their expansion gradually, eventually adding more than 100 new jobs, the release states.
Bakaert made the announcement Wednesday at the Rogers plant, in front of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Rogers Mayor Greg Hines, and Bekaert CEO Matthew Taylor.
"Bekaert is a company with a global presence and could have chosen to expand at any location throughout the world," said Hutchinson. "The fact that we are here today celebrating this expansion displays Arkansas' continued momentum in job creation. Bekaert's decision to grow in the state is a recognition that Arkansas is prepared to compete and win in job creation."
