ROGERS (KFSM) – A Rogers man was sentenced to five years for child pornography, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas Conner Eldridge.

Craig Goettsch, 53, of Rogers was sentenced on Jan. 28 to 60 months followed by five years of supervised release for possession of child porn, the release states.

Eldridge commented, “Today’s sentence is a reminder that we will not rest in our efforts to identify, investigate, and prosecute those who commit crimes against our children. Every time a video or image involving sexual abuse of children is downloaded or viewed, those children are re-victimized. We appreciate the hard work of law enforcement to bring these sexual predators to justice.”

Court records state that in May 2013 members of the Northwest Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children task force identified a computer engaging in the distribution of child porn via an Internet file-sharing program.

The computer was traced, and authorities found the residence of Goettsch. Investigators got a search warrant, executed it in Jan. 2014 and seized multiple computers and other digital storage devices, the release states.

According to authorities, Goettsch admitted to using the Internet to download and view child porn.

Some of the minors depicted in the porn were as young as eight years old, the release states.
