FRANKLIN COUNTY (KFSM) — The body of a 35-year-old man has been recovered from the Mulberry River after being reported missing on Sunday (Sep. 9).
Deputies told 5NEWS Christopher Cameron’s body has been found.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said a group of friends was swimming at about 5 p.m. near Big Eddy Hollow on Shores Lake Road in rural Franklin County. The area is located southeast of the White Rock Recreational Area.
Cameron went underwater and didn’t resurface, investigators said. A water rescue team from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission was called in to search Sunday night but stopped when it got too dark.
The recovery effort started this morning at about 9:30-10:00 a.m.
