ARKANSAS (KFSM) — Several Cox customers are experiencing internet, TV and phone outages in our area.
Cox says that the unplanned outage is caused by a fiber issue.
Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville and Mercy Fort Smith say phones are down at the moment.
Cox says you can log into your account on our website or Cox Connect app to view any notifications and updates regarding the outage.
Bryce Paden owns Urban Forest Axe House in Bentonville and he said he couldn't even turn on his lights when he went to work Thursday since their system is internet based.
"We were actually working on getting ladders in here so we could turn all of our lights on at the source of the power," Paden said. "We were working on getting paper wavers printed off so we could have people sign wavers on paper instead of the tablets so we had started that process this afternoon and I think probably around 3:30 it came back on for us... Which we have a huge corporate party coming in here at 5 so we were a little stressed out this afternoon trying to figure it all out."
Paden said even his place which consists of throwing an ax against a target uses the internet to run almost every aspect of their business. Paden said he and his team hope to have a plan in place for if something like this ever happens again.
