Two people were arrested early Wednesday morning after a robbery at the Kum-and-Go on W. Sunset in Springdale.
Preacher Hermon, 20, of Springdale, and Rinel Jihu, 24, of Springdale, both confessed to the crime and were charged with robbery, according to Lt. Kevin Lewis.
The clerk told police that two Marshallese men came into the store around 6 a.m. One of them went to the bathroom, while the other walked around the store, according to a police report.
The clerk noticed as the men were leaving that one of them was hiding something under his clothing, police say.
According to the report, two clerks tried to confront the men as they ran out of the store. One of the suspect’s pulled a bottle of wine out from under his shirt and swung it at both of the women.
Police say the men hopped in a van and left.
Investigators were able to use a license plate number to track down the suspects.
