Incumbents were mostly victorious Tuesday night after the primary election voters were counted for Washington County.
Judge Doug Martin defeated local lawyer Brian Lester in a race for the Washington County Circuit Court Division I judge seat held by William Storey. Martin collected 11,775 votes (69 percent) to Lester’s 5,296 (31 percent).
Storey is vacating his Division I position for the Fayetteville District Court judge seat, which he won by defeating Tim Snively 4,781 votes (67 percent) to 2,327 (33 percent).
Lance Eads collected the most Washington County votes in his state House District 88 race against incumbent Randy Alexander. Eads received 1,137 votes (58 percent) to Alexander’s 817 (42 percent).
In the Washington County Circuit Court Division III Juvenile judge race, Judge Stacey Zimmerman defeated challenger Lisa Parks 10,811 votes (60 percent) to 7,181 (40 percent).
Election Commission results show 18,662 of the county’s 109,428 voters cast a ballot in the primary elections, which comes to a 17 percent turnout.
