The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation has released the identity of a woman found murdered inside her Tahlequah home last week.
The woman has been identified as 40-year-old Tiffany Rene Maher. She is listed as a chemistry professor on Northeastern State University’s website.
Her vehicle was discovered by investigators Monday (June 3) night at a Tulsa apartment complex, according to the OSBI.
State police said she was found murdered inside her home Friday at 102 Kupsick St. in Tahlequah.
Maher’s 2011 red Ford Fiesta was missing at the time, prompting Oklahoma media to describe the woman’s car. Someone recognizing the car called police and notified them it was at the Stonehaven Villas near 81st Street in Tulsa, according to the state Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities photographed the area and questioned potential witnesses at the complex. Investigators plan to attempt to lift fingerprints from the car Tuesday, according to state police.
An NSU officer found her body after the woman’s friends requested a welfare check.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
