A new grocery store opens, bringing new jobs to Northwest Arkansas. The Fresh Market held its grand opening at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers.
Hundreds of people showed up filling the aisles and squeezing by to get a taste of the brand new Fresh Market.
"We are exceeding expectations," Robert Kitts, store manager, said.
"We've been very fortunate so far. Everybody has been happy, very positive even with the lines and how busy it's been," Kitts said.
The 20,000 square foot store features a full-service meat counter and fresh seafood and bakery.
The Grand Opening included chef demonstrations, samples and drawings.
"Ever since the first time we visited a Fresh Market, we were anxious for something like this in Northwest Arkansas," Steve Walters, customer, said.
"There's wonderful meats and vegetables so I'm really excited about it," Anna George, customer, said.
Instead of ribbon cutting, The Fresh Market opened in a unique way.
"We crack an 80 pound wheel of reggiano parmesan out on sales floor for the customers. It's the king of cheeses. That's always been the Fresh Market's Grand Opening," Kitts said.
The company brings 90 new jobs to the area and its second store to the state.
