TONTITOWN (KFSM) — At the Tontitown City Council meeting Tuesday night (Oct. 6), Mayor Paul Colvin announced he had hired a new police chief.
Joey McCormick, who has been serving as interim chief, was given the full-time position. McCormick, a former Siloam Springs officer, replaces Denny Upton.
Upton’s service as chief was limited, however, due to a violation of the Arkansas Local Police and Fire Retirement System.
The last police chief to serve more than one year was Kris Arthur, Upton’s predecessor.
