NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (KFSM) - Election commission officials in Benton and Washington Counties said they do not expect any mishaps with their voting machines on Election Day Tuesday (Nov. 4) after both counties had minor issues with their ballots during early voting.
During the first day of early voting in Benton County, some typos had been found on the ballots.
Kim Dennison, who works for the Election Commission in Benton County, said they are fully prepared to handle thousands of Election Day voters.
“Everything is going great,” Dennison said. “We have fixed our issues that we found with our typo. And, we should not have any more problems on Election Day.”
Washington County also had an issue on their first day of early voting when candidate party affiliations were left off the ballots.
“Everything, after we got past that first Monday, everything has run smoothly for us,” said Jennifer Price, who works for the Election Commission in Washington County.
Price said the error did not discourage voters from casting their ballot.
“We have just seen our voter numbers increase every day,” Price said.
While election officials say they do not expect further issues on Election Day (Nov. 4,) they are prepared if something does go wrong.
“Notify a poll worker if you think you have the wrong ballot,” Dennison said.
If there are any issues with voting machines in Benton County, Dennison said they have specialists who will be at the polling location to fix the problem within minutes of the phone call.
