GENTRY (KFSM) -- A fundraising event was held in Gentry Park Saturday (August 8) to benefit the Gentry Animal Shelter.
The event called "Wagapalooza" went from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mayor Kevin Johnston said the activities were hosted by the Tail Waggerz organization.
There was a pie-eating contest, barbeque, inflatables and face painting for the humans and a swimming pool and dog kissing booth for their four-legged friends.
"We are here today to show our support for Tail Waggerz and show our appreciation for what they are doing to help us raise money for our facility and help bring awareness to the importance of these guys, important members of our family," Johnston said.
The proceeds from this year's event will go toward updating heating and cooling units at the shelter.
