WALDRON (KFSM) — A man arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend has been charged with first-degree murder.
Daniel Reed Roseberry, 46, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon and his trial date has been scheduled for March 15, 2016 at 9 a.m.
Roseberry will also have a pre-trial hearing on March 1 at 9 a.m.
Police officers arrested Roseberry after they found the woman, Lavonda Legitt, inside unresponsive with a stab wound to her stomach and neck.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Roseberry had stabbed her multiple times with a knife. On the phone with a 911 dispatcher, Roseberry admitted, “I just killed my girlfriend.”
He remains behind bars at the Scott County Jail, held on a $1 million bond.
