WHITESBORO (KFSM) -- A Whitesboro High School graduate in LeFlore County was killed in a car accident Wednesday ( March 30).
School officials said they canceled activities and provided counselors for students after they heard graduate Brent Pugh passed away.
" I fielded my first call about 6 a.m. from someone who told me we might not want to drive a bus down there because the scene wasn't complete," said Whitesboro superintendent Katie Blagg. "First thing you do is hug the mom and tell her you don't have anything to say to make it correct in this setting and the next thing you tell her is we loved your child."
The car crash happened on County Line Road in Whiteboro around 2 a.m. Wednesday (March 30).
Investigators said the vehicle rolled several times. Two others were in the vehicle when it happened. Friends said a teenage girl is in the hospital with several broken bones and another young man has been released from the hospital.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol had the vehicle shipped to a garage in Honobia Oklahoma where they are investigating how the accident happened.
Pugh graduated in 2015. School leaders said he was active in agriculture class and played some baseball during his years at the school.
