JANNA BRIDGEMAN

Jana Suzanne Slinkard, who also goes by the alias Janna Bridgeman, was sentenced Monday in Benton County Circuit Court to 15 years in prison, a deputy prosecutor said.

Slinkard’s first name is listed on court records with one “n” when she uses the last name Slinkard, but Janna has two “n’s” when she uses Bridgeman, records show.

She was sentenced to 12 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor, permitting the abuse of a minor and false imprisonment, said Stephanie McLemore, deputy prosecutor. Slinkard received an additional three years for violating her probation on a previous drug offense, records show. She also received a 10-year suspended sentence that can be implemented if she commits another crime, the prosecutor said.

Slinkard, 30, will be eligible for parole in two years, McLemore said.

Slinkard and her husband, David Bridgeman, were accused of chaining his 5-year-old daughter to a dresser. He said he chained her to furniture because she sleepwalks.

The child is Slinkard’s stepdaughter, the prosecutor said.

The Rogers man was sentenced to 18 years in prison last week after he pleaded guilty to false imprisonment, permitting abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to the Associated Press .

Bridgeman was arrested in December after a woman staying with the family alerted police.

Slinkard received 95 days credit for previous jail time and was fined $1,000, plus $170 in other fees, records show. She also was ordered not to have contact with the victim.
