OZARK, Arkansas — A 25-year-old man died after falling off of his skateboard into oncoming traffic on Highway 23, according to Ozark Police Chief Devin Bramlett.

Todd Ingram of Ozark was riding on his skateboard on the shoulder of Highway 23 around 3 p.m. on June 26 when Bramlett said video surveillance from a local business showed Ingram suddenly stopping and falling off of the skateboard.

Bramlett said it wasn't clear exactly what made Ingram stop suddenly on his skateboard.

At the time, a Ford Ranger was traveling northbound when Ingram fell into oncoming traffic. According to Bramlett, the driver attempted to avoid Ingram by driving into the southbound lane of traffic but ultimately hit him.

Ingram was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After reviewing footage of the incident, Bramlett said prosecutors are not planning to file any charges.
