Palestine Peace Protest held in Fayetteville

Members of the Arkansas Anti-war Alliance and the Omni Center met in front of the Washington County Courthouse.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — People gathered to hold a Palestine Peace Protest on Sunday, Oct. 22, in Fayetteville.

Members of the Arkansas Anti-war Alliance and the Omni Center met in front of the Washington County Courthouse.

Founder of the Arkansas Anti-war Alliance, Abel Tomlison, said the protestors had gathered to call for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas.

"Because this is a way to express democratic opposition, we want honest, sincere solutions, and we want peace," said Tomlison.

Tomlinson said he believes the root cause of this war is the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and that the fighting needs to come to an end immediately.
