PARIS, Arkansas — The Paris Police Department (PPD) announced the death of Paris Police Chief, Robin Ellington on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Ellington died at her home in Ozark at age 66 according to her obituary. She served the Paris Police Department for over 20 years according to PPD. She was appointed Chief of Police in January 2021. PPD says since then, she has "improved the department in many ways."
The Paris Mayor, Daniel Rogers, says she was "the only woman to ever serve as chief" in the history of the city.
PPD made the announcement saying in part:
"Chief Ellington is the definition of what every Law Enforcement Officer should strive to be. She had the purest heart and the utmost amount of respect for every human being. She was hardworking and had a plethora of tasks that she took on every day."
