PEA RIDGE, Ark. — The Pea Ridge Police Department (PRPD) has announced a change to the school zone speed limit on Weston Street.
PRPD said as of Nov. 4, 2024, the speed limit will be 15 mph instead of the current 25 mph, when lights are flashing or children are present.
Officials said this is an effort to improve the safety of everyone and to reduce the risk of accidents during peak hours.
“Ensuring the safety of our children is our top priority,” said Police Chief Lynn Hahn. “By reducing the speed limit in this school zone, we hope to create a safer environment for students as they travel to and from school.”
