Pedestrian killed while removing dead deer from road in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A Fayetteville man was struck by a car and killed while removing a dead deer from the roadway on Thursday.

A crash report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety said that the incident occurred on Oct. 10 on North Crossover Road near East Stone Mountain Drive in Fayetteville at around 12:18 a.m.

The report said that Nelson Valdez, 42, was removing a dead dear from the road. A vehicle was traveling south on the road and didn't see Valdez, colliding with him.

Conditions were clear and dry, according to the report.
