ATLANTA — Two planes struck each other at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday, damaging one of the aircraft, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Officials said Delta Air Lines Flight 295 was taxiing for departure around 10:10 a.m., its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526. A statement from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport said the collision happened at the intersection of taxiways E and H on the north airfield.
According to the FAA, the Delta Airbus was headed to Tokyo and the Endeavor Bombardier was headed to Lafayette, Louisiana.
"There have been no reported injuries at this time and customers are being transported back to the terminal where they will be reaccommodated on alternate flights," Delta added in a statement. "There were 221 customers on DL295 and 56 customers on DL5526. At this time, no additional operational adjustments are expected."
A photo from the scene appears to show the tail of that second plane knocked off.
The FAA said it is investigating the incident.
