Jacks was found six days after she was reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

ARKOMA, Okla. — Arkoma Police Chief Michael Ivy said he believes that a 24-year-old woman previously reported missing was found dead inside her car on Friday, July 12.

The body believed to be Harmoni Jacks was found six days after she was reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Chief Ivy said her car was found in a wooded area off of LeFlore Avenue and Main Street in Arkoma on Friday morning by a driver who spotted something shiny in the trees.

Chief Ivy said injuries appear to be consistent with a crash.

As far as suspicions, Chief Ivy said, "It appears to be a traffic accident, but it's still under investigation."

A medical examiner (ME) arrived at the scene to confirm that the body in the car was Jacks. We will update this article once we know more about the ME's findings.

The grandmother of Jacks's son, Deborah Wright, describes her as a great mother, whose loss is heartbreaking.

The initial search for Harmoni Jacks

On July 9, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol sent out a Kasey Alert—an alert similar to a Silver Alert but for adults who have disappeared under mysterious circumstances— after Jacks was reportedly last seen on Sunday morning at 3:30 a.m.

Helicopter crews were sent out along the Arkansas-Oklahoma border to search for Jacks, Ivy said.

The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation got involved on Tuesday. Hunter McKee with OSBI said in a press conference outside Jacks' Arkoma home that if anyone had any idea where Jacks was, to call OSBI directly or 911.
