Police: Shots fired at Fort Smith restaurant, suspect in custody

Around 40 minutes after the shots were fired, Nelson was taken into custody in Crawford County, police say.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) has taken a suspect into custody after reportedly firing a gun at a restaurant on Nov. 21.

According to FSPD, Loren Nelson, 30, entered the Buffalo Wild Wings on Rogers Avenue around 10:40 a.m., and at least one shot was fired but no injuries were reported. 

Witnesses allegedly told police Nelson was searching for his ex-spouse, but left before authorities arrived. Around 11:20 a.m., Nelson was taken into custody in Crawford County, FSPD reports.
