SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A 5-year-old died after swimming in an apartment complex pool on Sept. 2, according to the Springdale Police Department (SPD).
SPD confirms officers responded to an apartment complex on S 40th Street after reports of a possible drowning, where they found the 5-year-old unresponsive. "Officers attempted life-saving measures," but the child was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police have not released further information about the incident, but have labeled it as an active investigation.
