ARKANSAS, USA — Several counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma have issued severe weather warnings on March 14.
The 5NEWS Weather Team categorized Thursday, March 14, as a Red Weather Alert Day, which signifies a very legitimate severe weather threat in our area. The severe weather is projected to occur from around 2 p.m. to midnight.
While counties were under severe thunderstorms, the hail and strong winds from the storm threats have created power outages for several residents.
"We currently have more than 20,000 members without power due to the storms, primarily in the eastern part of our service area including Baldwin, Combs, Elkins, Farmington, Goshen, Greenland, Gulley, Harp Hill, Hindsville, Wesley, and Wyola substations. We are aware of the outages and working to safely restore power as quickly as possible," Ozarks Electric Cooperative said.
