BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A three-vehicle crash in Bentonville last month has left one dead, according to a new report.
The report, released by the Arkansas Department of Public Safety (DPS), says that the crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. on May 23.
The crash took place on I-49 south near mile marker 81, and conditions were clear and dry, according to DPS.
82-year-old James Simpson was a passenger in vehicle one, which was traveling southbound on I-49. Ahead of vehicle one was vehicle two, with vehicle three ahead of it.
Vehicle three reportedly slowed down, causing vehicle two to hit it. Vehicle one then struck vehicle two.
The report does not state when or how Simpson died. No other deaths or injuries were listed in the report.
