Court records: Richard Barnett's attorney requests Feb. 20, 2024 hearing date

Barnett is currently serving a 4.5-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Oakdale, Louisiana.

OAKDALE, La. — Richard Barnett's attorney is requesting a hearing date for Feb. 20, 2024,  according to court records. 

Barnett was found guilty on several charges on May 24, 2023, and called "a face of January 6" by the federal judge after his actions at the U.S. Capitol riot. Barnett is known for entering the U.S. Capitol with a walking stick stun gun. A photo of him was taken on Nancy Pelosi's desk with his legs propped up and later went viral.  

Barnett is currently serving a 4.5-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Oakdale, Louisiana.

Court records show the request was submitted on Monday, Nov. 11. His attorney is asking for 90 days to prepare for the opening brief.
