Russellville festival helping couples elope during solar eclipse

Want to experience the wedding of a lifetime?

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — A three-day Russellville festival is offering a once-in-a-lifetime wedding experience during the Great American Eclipse on April 8.

The Total Eclipse of the Heart festival is being held in Russellville from April 6 through April 8 in celebration of the total eclipse.

The festival will include live music and food trucks, as well as a mass wedding for couples hoping to tie the knot during the celestial event.

"For couples who happen to be in love "to the moon and back", the Total Eclipse of the Heart festival in Russellville is offering a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Astro-loving partners during this rare event. All a couple needs are a wedding license and something special to wear," according to the festival's website.

Wedding officiants will be onsite and ready to marry any couples looking to wed on the special day.

Additionally, the festival's website says that decorations, flowers, wedding cake, and a bottle of sparkling fruit drink are all provided at no cost to the couple.

Russellville is one of the Arkansas cities that is primed for the eclipse, with an expected 100% totality

"The celestial ceremony concludes just minutes before totality takes place with over 4 minutes of complete darkness with only the stars and a thin circle of light around the moon resembling a huge wedding ring in the sky," the website said.
