FORT SMITH, Ark. — As Christmas concludes, the Salvation Army of Fort Smith's Red Kettle Campaign follows behind.
2023's campaign raised a total of $140,381.81 from the red kettles across the River Valley. The final total was just shy of their fundraising goal of $160,000.
"Thank you all so much for making our Red Kettle Campaign a huge success," the Salvation Army of Fort Smith said in a Facebook post.
There are still opportunities to give to the Red Kettle Campaign electronically through the Salvation Army's website.
All donations will stay local and go toward helping River Valley individuals and families in crisis.
“When you're thinking about who this is going to help, you can think of your grandma raising grandkids," Captain Stephanie Hargis with Fort Smith's Salvation Army told 5NEWS in November. "Most of our clients at the Salvation Army, about 70%, are at-risk seniors."
The Northwest Arkansas command's Red Kettle Campaign wrapped up on Saturday, Dec. 23, but no donation totals have been released yet.
