ROLAND, Oklahoma — An investigation into a potential threat on a Roland Public Schools (RPS) campus is underway, the district said.
The district announced at around 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 17 that the presence of a potential threat had disrupted the school's dismissal and stopped the release of students.
At around 5 p.m., RPS told parents they would begin bussing all students on campus to TheBOD.church on Highway 64 for pick up. The school district said Roland High School students would be the last group of children to be removed from the campus.
By 6:30 p.m., the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) cleared the campus. Students were allowed to pick up their belongings from campus until 9 p.m. They will also have the opportunity to get their things on Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In a separate announcement, RPS said they were notified that the potential threat was made through the suicide hotline.
"The hotline has been actively talking with the caller and communicating with all law enforcement," RPS said.
The investigation is ongoing. The district said they will release new information as it comes in.
