Man who fled from deputies after crashing into Oklahoma Highway Patrol unit is now in custody

According to the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office, multiple agencies partnered to locate and arrest Ethan Branham in Muldrow.

MULDROW, Okla. — Oklahoma authorities have located and arrested a man who crashed into an Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) unit and fled from deputies, according to the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).

Ethan Branham is facing charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, littering, and having expired tags from Sunday's incident.

When responding to a call about potential gunshots near Bawcom Road on April 14, deputies tried to stop Branham in his truck when he began to flee.

"During the pursuit, Branham crashed into an OHP unit and was able to get away," the sheriff's office said.

On April 15, a deputy was patrolling the Bawcom Road area when he saw Branham driving in a different truck. After another pursuit began, Branham crashed the truck near Bawcom and Redland Road and fled on foot into the woods.

Although the sheriff's office says they conducted a "lengthy search of the woods," they eventually called off the search. However, sheriff's deputies and OHP continued patrolling the area throughout the night.

Branham was arrested on April 16. SCSO thanked its deputies, OHP, Sallisaw Police Department, Roland Police Department, Muldrow Police Department, District 27 Drug Task Force, and the Cherokee Nation Marshals for helping locate Branham.
