Section of Razorback Greenway in Fayetteville to be closed for repair

The city says that, depending on the weather conditions, the construction should take about three weeks.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville announced today that a section of the Razorback Greenway, the 40-mile trail system running through Northwest Arkansas, will be closed temporarily in order for repairs to be made.

A release from the city says that, beginning on March 5, a portion of the greenway south of Lake Fayetteville will be closed and detoured in order to replace a 150-foot-long section of cracked concrete.

The city says that, depending on the weather conditions, the construction should take about three weeks.

"This work will require rerouting the Razorback Greenway through Veterans Park and south along Vantage Drive to the Mud Creek Trail. Then, it will go west on the Mud Creek Trail to rejoin the Razorback Greenway near the intersection of N. Gregg Avenue and W. Van Asche Drive," the release said.

Signs indicating the detour will be installed along the trail.

Walkers, runners, cyclists, and anyone else using the trail are asked to follow the detour signs and to stay clear of the construction work.
