Shaq coming to Fayetteville for DJ gig

The legendary basketball player will be at JJ's Live on October 18.
Wait, Shaq was in a rap group? The former Lakers star dissed Shannon Sharp in a newly released song.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal is headed to JJ's Live in Fayetteville later this year for a DJ gig ahead of a Razorback football game.

Shaq will play a DJ set under his stage name "Diesel."

JJ's says that it booked Shaq, or "Mr. LSU," the night before the LSU at Arkansas football game on Oct. 19 for what the venue says will be the biggest party in the state.

In a Facebook post on July 1, JJ's said that the Arkansas/LSU rivalry is "alive and well."

Part of the event will include a showdown between the LSU and Arkansas fanbases.

"We called our good friends at [Fred's Bar] and told them to shut down Baton Rouge and come party with us in Fayetteville! They told us 'We will have more LSU fans at the show than Arkansas fans' and we took that personally," JJ's said.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on July 12. The event is on Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. Tickets can be found here.
