Sheep Dog Impact Assistance deploying to Tennessee after tornadoes leave severe damage

The Disaster Response team will leave on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. and return on Friday, Dec. 15.

ROGERS, Ark. — The Sheep Dog Impact Assistance (SDIA) announced it is deploying crews from Northwest Arkansas to Clarksville, Tennessee, where a an outbreak of tornadoes hit, leaving severe damage. 

The Disaster Response team will leave on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 9 a.m. and return on Friday, Dec. 15. 

SDIA is still accepting volunteers who meet their requirements. 

Requirements for deployment

  • Registered online 
  • Be an SDIA member or volunteer. To sign up click here
  • Have proof of health insurance
  • Unless volunteers are traveling with the disaster response team, members should be able to travel to the destination 
  • Must be able to pay for personal expenses
  • Have required gear

Once registered, volunteers will be contacted by SDIA. Officials say lodging and food are provided at the rally point. Crews are leaving from the Center for Non Profits at St. Mary's located at 1200 W Walnut Street in Rogers. Those who registed and plan to travel at their own expense are asked to contact Jeff Watts at 901-233-4591.
