SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History is looking for local artists to design an outdoor shade canopy that it plans to install at the entrance.
The canopy will be for its new stage and seating area.
Artists can submit "quilt-inspired designs" that "reflect the rich history, ecology and diverse cultures of the Arkansas Ozarks." The museum said it will digitize the selected designs onto the canopies for its public space project.
Requirements
All experience levels are welcome. The only requirements are that the artists be 18 years of age or older and based in Benton, Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton, or Washington Counties. The deadline to apply is Thursday, July 10.
The art will be reviewed by "a committee composed of stakeholders, artists and community members." The winning art will be based on quality and the artist's ability "to complete the project based on bio and prior work experience."
The artist design fee is $2,500, and the museum will keep rights to the image. To learn more about what's included, click here.

- The applicant's "interest in the project and approach to artmaking" in 500 words or less.
