SPRINGDALE, Ark. โ The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History announced it has received an award for preserving a cabin that goes back to the 1850s.
The museum said its Ritter-McDonald Log Cabin recently went under restoration calling the attention of Preserve Arkansas. The cabin was built in the 1850s in Elm Springs. The museum's website states "Like many log cabins, it eventually became a room in a larger house."
The cabin's location "made the preservation process a community event, shining a spotlight on the significance of history and architectural conservation," the museum said.
According to the museum, the Outstanding Achievement in Preservation Education Award will be presented on Jan. 26 in Little Rock.
