Shop the Market event held in Bentonville

Downtown Bentonville Inc. hosted the event to give back to the community but also to infuse cash directly to local farmers.

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — The Bentonville Farmers Market hosted "Shop the Market" on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The family-friendly event gave away a total of $2,400 worth of market cash.

Families lined up at the Downtown Bentonville Incorporated (DBI) tent where each family received two $5 market cash. The market cash was only redeemable at the farmer's market vendor booth.

Downtown Bentonville Inc. hosted the event to give back to the community but also to infuse cash directly to local farmers.

"But it is also about the local economy, small business is so important to us....to the economy of farmers," said Aaron Nolan with DBI.
