LE FLORE COUNTY, Okla. — On Oct. 9, remains found in the woods near Bengal were identified by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) as a LeFlore County man who was reported missing near that area almost three and a half years ago.

Tanner Armstrong McKosky, 25, was reported missing on April 25, 2021, having last been seen at a home in Bengal, just north of Talihina. At the time, the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) asked for OSBI's help locating McKosky and named the disappearance "suspicious."

In September 2024, LCSO and the Latimer County Sheriff's Office asked for OSBI's help in identifying skeletal remains found in the woods near McKosky's last known location. Two weeks later, the body was confirmed to be McKosky.

OSBI has not reported the death as suspicious, but anybody with information is asked to contact them at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017.
