SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Springdale City Council voted unanimously to pay extra to acquire land for the city's senior center project at a Dec. 12 meeting.
An appraisal report conducted by Reed & Associates, Inc., valued the property at $120,000 in September. However, the property's owner, ESO Properties, LLC, told Springdale that the property will cost $185,460.
According to the passed resolution, the property owner said the new offer was "justified by [the] nature of the property, and the increase in property values."
The council confirmed at the meeting that they closed on the other parcel for the senior center the previous day, on Dec. 11.
