One of the minors that Potter shot at admitted they tried to "jump" him during a drug deal, police said.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — According to the Springdale Police Department (SPD), 18-year-old Asher Potter has been arrested in connection to a shooting that injured a minor near Park Street and Caudle Avenue on Feb. 8, around 1:55 p.m.

Sgt. Matt Ray, SPD's public information officer, said they were first dispatched to the area after gunshots were reported. When officers arrived, SPD said a minor was found on the scene with a gunshot wound that "shattered their tibia." The minor is reportedly now in stable condition.

Video evidence of the shooting shows Potter "arriving at the house, walking to a back corner ... [then] fleeing from three individuals," SPD said. One of the people Potter shot at admitted to trying to "jump" Potter during a drug deal, police said.

Potter is facing a battery charge for his reported involvement in the shooting.
