Stacy Lee Drake confirmed to be linked to 4 homicides in the U.S. | What we know about the alleged victims

Officials confirm Drake is a suspect in three homicides in Oklahoma, which occurred in Gans and El Reno, and one "suspicious death" in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

OKLAHOMA, USA — Stacy Lee Drake, a suspect in multiple killings in the United States, was apprehended on June 20 in Conway County, Ark.

A manhunt for Drake ensued after two people were found dead at LaFerry's Propane in Sequoyah County, Okla. on June 18.

Once the manhunt for Drake was announced on June 19, the Morrilton Police Department (MPD) said he was suspected in four homicides. They said Drake had a homicide warrant out of Alabama and was tied to three total killings in Oklahoma — including the double homicide at LaFerry's.

The El Reno Police Department confirmed that the third homicide in Oklahoma tied to Drake happened on June 14.

Captain Jack Kennedy with the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office's (TCSO) Violent Crimes Unit verified Drake is also a suspect in another homicide investigation after a man's body was found at an Alcoholics Anonymous building on May 14.

"He had no fixed address. He has an extensive criminal history in multiple states," Kennedy said. "It appears that he was traveling the country in this lifestyle utilizing false names in an attempt to keep from being incarcerated, and what led him to become a person that violently assaults and murders people."

Here's what we know about each victim.

Oklahoma

In charges filed against Drake in Sequoyah County, the double homicide victims were identified as Tara Underwood and Taylor Sharp.

"This senseless and violent act is truly heartbreaking," District Attorney Jack Thorp said. "These victims and their loved ones deserve justice, and we will fight to see that done."

Tara's father Randy Barnett couldn't comprehend the loss of his daughter.

"It was like somebody pulled the air out from under me ... I fell to the ground," he said.

Tara's father and her sister Tia don't want her death to be clouded by the life she lived.

"I just want everyone to remember Tara like she was in school ... fun and happy, full of life," Tia said.

Randy said Tara could always put a smile on his face.

"Anyone that knew Tara and loved Tara, knew she was bouncy and full of life. She couldn't sing karaoke that great, but boy, she could make us laugh with it."

Although she was always the life of the party, Randy said Tara would also help anyone at the drop of a dime.

"She was always the first to jump in the creek," he said. "She's the first one to jump in the pool. She's the first one to tear up the house, but she's also the first person that would do anything for anyone."

Tara leaves behind her three kids, who Tia says will miss their mom so much.

"She was an amazing mom," she said. "They're gonna miss her so much."

As the family leans on each other to remember the legacy Tara left behind, they know they're not the only family impacted by these crimes.

"We want to let the other victims' families know that we would love to reach out to them," Tia said.

Phillip Emerson

The El Reno Police Department is accusing Drake of killing Phillip Emerson in his residence and fleeing in Emerson's vehicle on June 14.

Police say that last Friday night, Emerson's brother went to check on him after not hearing from him for a while, but when he got to his house, he found his brother dead.

Neighbors later told Emerson's brother that he had become friends with Drake while attending AA meetings.

El Reno police say they didn't have a motive, but they know Drake was a suspect once Emerson's brother reported a truck missing.

"It was a huge piece that helped tie the victim to what turned out to be Mr. Drake," said El Reno Police Chief Ken Brown.

Police say they think Drake took the truck and drove it to Gans to kill his next to victims.

Alabama

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed Drake is also a suspect in the homicide of 62-year-old Russell "Rusty" Thomas Andrews on May 14.

In a press conference on June 20, TCSO Captain Jack Kennedy said the sheriff's office only heard great things about Andrews, who was a longtime volunteer at the local Alcoholics Anonymous program. Witnesses told investigators that they saw Andrews with Drake, and Drake utilized the program for resources while he was in the area.

"I learned a lot about the AA in this investigation because I've never had any experience with it," Kennedy said.

"Apparently they have open meetings to anyone who needs and would like to come see them. So they do have a lot of folks that are homeless or something that do come by from time to time ... It wasn't uncommon for someone in the suspect's lifestyle to come by and come to meetings and stuff."

Kennedy said those who knew Andrews told investigators that he didn't have a violent bone in his body. "They all said he would have given him his car and his money if he'd just asked for it."
