Power restored in LeFlore County

According to Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, over 3,500 of its customers in LeFlore County were briefly without power on June 6.

LE FLORE COUNTY, Okla. — Update: Power has been restored as of 8 p.m. on June 6. 

Kiamichi Electric Cooperative reported that over 3,500 of its customers in LeFlore County were experiencing outages on June 6 around 7 p.m.

The electric company's outage map showed the largest affected areas were near Highway 59 between Cowlington and Bokoshe. Customers near Shady Point, Cameron, and Poteau were also being impacted. 

According to Kiamichi, there was a broken cross-arm between the Shady Point substation and the Sunset Corner substation. 

Crews restored the Shady Point substation at 7:25 p.m. and the Sunset Corner substation was restored at 8:05 p.m.

Kiamichi serves 8,650 customers in LeFlore County. They also serve customers in Atoka, Latimer, Pittsburg, and Pushmataha.
