VAN BUREN, Ark. — A Rudy man is dead and two others are injured after being hit by a train near Lee Creek Park on July 21, according to the Van Buren Police Department (VBPD).
The police department said three people were on the train bridge taking photos on Saturday night when the train came over the bridge and struck them.

Police said the two who were injured reported the incident around 11:10 p.m. While the two had minor injuries, they told police the man was thrown from the bridge into the water after the impact.
The Crawford County Sheriff's Office, the Fort Smith Fire Department Dive Team, and Van Buren first responders helped locate the man's body in the water.
Police said they identified the man, but they are not releasing his identity at this time.
The police department encourages residents to stay off the bridge.
VBPD said not only is being on the bridge dangerous but it is also considered trespassing. It's railroad property, so police say people are not allowed to be on that bridge without railroad permission.
