BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Two people are injured after a vehicle crashed into the southwest corner of the Haas Hall Academy in Bentonville on Oct. 17, according to founder and Superintendent Martin Schoppmeyer.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Schoppmeyer said the Bentonville Police Department (BPD) and fire department responded to the scene.
According to Cpl. Melissa Fox with BPD, the driver of the vehicle was having a medical emergency before crashing into the building. Fox said the driver and the passenger of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
"Our thoughts are with the passenger and driver as they are being treated for their injuries," Schoppmeyer said.
He said the school has put in a request for an inspection of the building and utilities after Thursday's incident.
