SAN FRANCISCO — You can buy anything on Amazon. Literally. The company announced its partnership with Hyundai this week, allowing people to buy cars at participating dealerships across the country.

The new feature, called Amazon Autos, allows people across 48 U.S. cities to “browse, order, finance and schedule pickup of a new Hyundai vehicle from their local participating dealer directly on Amazon.” Major cities in Texas, Florida, New York, California, Washington, Ohio and more are included.

Unlike everything else on Amazon, these vehicles cannot be delivered anywhere but the dealership.

The company says it has created a “streamlined” way of purchasing a car.

There's no haggling involved, because the posted price includes taxes and fees. People can set up financing for the car directly online and can also see how much their current car would trade-in for.

Amazon says this is just the start of the program and they will continue to “add more Hyundai dealerships, and next year, we will roll out additional manufacturers, brands, cities and new functionality.”

The rollout comes nearly a year after originally being announced. It’s unclear what kind of commission or cut Amazon will see of the sales.
