BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) — One person is dead after a crash on Highway 12 near Bull Hill Road Thursday (Oct. 24).
According to the Beaver Lake Fire Department, two people were extricated from at least one of the vehicles.
21-year-old Jonathan Farnsworth of Rogers was killed during the crash, according to an Arkansas State Police fatality report.
Jonathan was in the passenger seat of the car Karen Farnsworth, 68, was driving. The report states that Karen was negotiating a curve on Highway 12 when her vehicle crossed the center line, crashing into a truck driven by Joseph Fisher, 62 of Rogers.
Both Karen and Joseph were taken to area hospitals. Their condition is unknown at this time.
The accident happened just before 4 p.m. and caused Highway 12 to be shut down for about two hours.
Whisenant says this is not the first accident to happen on this same road recently, so drivers need to be mindful while navigating the hills and curves.
"Bull Hill is particularly treacherous as of late under damp road conditions so we just encourage drivers to slow down and drive for the conditions that are present," Whisenant said.
Along with the Beaver Lake Fire Department, The Rogers Police Department and Rocky Branch Fire Department also assisted with the accident.
