WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — Caitlin Tannehill Oxford has officially declared her candidacy for the Arkansas House of Representatives, District 25, vowing to be a "responsive and solution-oriented representative for the people of District 25."
“On the campaign in 2022, I met thousands of people in our community who are doing everything they can just to stay afloat. I made a promise that I wouldn’t give up on my neighbors, and that’s why I’m running again. I care about the people of District 25. I can’t let our state government give up on District 25 again. Arkansans need representatives who will listen to their needs and work to find viable solutions to the problems they face every day," Oxford said in a statement.
Oxford graduated from Elkins High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. In 2020, she married her teenage sweetheart, Kyle. Together, they have five children and one granddaughter. They operate two family farms (one in Elkins, one in Goshen) and help the local food supply chain by offering their product at several local farmers’ markets.
Oxford is a small business owner, stating she has been an active member in the community, serving as PTO President in the Elkins School District, Girl Scout troop leader, supporting Cub Scouts, coaching her children’s multiple sports teams, and volunteering for Elkins Public Schools.
She is currently serving as Secretary for the Elkins Lions Club and the Friends of the Elkins Public Library; she also serves on the board of Ozark Folkways in Winslow. Additionally, she is an active member of the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.
“I have worked hard for our community. I would love the opportunity to continue to strengthen our community by serving the people of District 25 in the Arkansas House of Representatives.”
House District 25 includes Sonora, Goshen, Elkins, Winslow, Mountainburg, Chester, Mulberry, and part of Ozark.
